Our New Elders
On Sunday 6th March nine New Elders were Ordained into the office of Eldership at King’s Park Church. All nine had undertaken training from Rona Lanagan, Glasgow Presbytery and being called by God agreed to serve in King’s Park Church.
There is a distinct and peculiar prominence of the elder in Presbyterian churches, which take their very name from the biblical Greek word translated as elder: presbyteros. In 1964, immediately after the admission of women to the eldership, the Church of Scotland stated that "The office of elder is one of the spiritual offices of the Church of Scotland and is concerned with the oversight and pastoral work of a congregation."
Those Ordained were:
Front Row from Left: Cath Graham, Gaera Taylor, Millie McCabe, Laura Kirkwood
Second Row from Left: Ann McNeice, Dougie Mills, Sandra Anderson, Faye Walker, Gary King
Back Row: Alan Pratt( session Clerk) Rev Sandra Boyd (Minister)

We wish them all God’s blessings as they serve Jesus Christ by serving his people.
